The Officer, Fire Training role responds on a 24-hour basis to fire, hydrocarbon and toxic gas release, rescue and fire-loss-control situations pan island. The purpose is to prevent and minimise loss of life and property damage, supervise fire service personnel and auxiliary team members, and assume incident commander duties until relieved by a more senior fire officer. What you'll do
- Supervise Island Fire Training Centre activities under the Lead Fire Training Officer; ensure training meets accepted standards and Fire Service policies
- Assume incident commander duties during emergencies until relieved; lead firefighters on firefighting, oil/chemical spills, oil & gas release control, rescue and medical emergencies
- Prepare training aids and deliver emergency response training for Fire Service personnel, UAE Nationals on career/development programmes, ADNOC Offshore facilities and marine vessels
- Design scenarios and simulated exercises for Auxiliary Fire Teams and offshore/marine fire teams
- Instruct on department equipment including CO₂/air compressors, bulk dry chemical filling machines and breathing apparatus test rigs
- Carry out daily facility inspections for HSE/Fire Code compliance; compile reports, BSAs and STOPs
- Supervise testing and maintenance of major firefighting vehicles, marine firefighting tugs and fire main components
- Review departmental emergency procedures, maintenance programmes, technical instructions and training manuals; formulate safe chemical disposal methods
